Yes, I raise Miniature Dachshunds......................So, what does that mean?
So, you want to know what a responsible "Dog Breeder" is?
To me it means:
  • It means having  a strong plan, good finance's, good Veterinary care, and a true compassion for animals.
It is not easy...to be a Good Responsible breeder
  • It is hard work and a lot of it
  • It is late minute change of plans or cancellations of plans all together
  • It is being organized
  • It is Continuing Education
  • Attending Costly Seminars on Canine Care, including: Nutrition, Breeding, Reproduction,Vaccines, Genetic Breed
    testing and much more.
  • It is costly unscheduled Veterinary visits at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Which usually takes place in wee
hours of the morning when most others are peacefully asleep.
  • It is visits to the specialist where the cost can be astronomical
  • It means nursing puppies around the clock when the bitch is unable to care for them
  • It is the little things like, laundry, laundry and more laundry
  • It means heart break every time an adult is placed into a permanent in order to continue with the joy that comes
with being a good responsible breeder
  • It means getting up early and going to bed late, or not at all
  • It means frequently scooping the lawn for poop. Yes poop,... and ewe!
  • It means passing down an invitation for dinner or a show because you are anticipating that this may be the day the
    your bitch whelps.
  • It means finding out that you could have gone to dinner or the show...a little too late
  • It means giving the purchaser, in writing, a copy of all that is included with the purchase of an their new Dachshund
Puppy from Permanently Reg'd AKC  JBD Doxies.
  • It means taking a puppy back which you have previously placed regadless as to te the reason why.

It is easy to type words onto a web page for the public to view. I want urge you to go a step further.
  • Visit my  home, meet and  play with my dogs
  • Decide on your own if you really want to patronize Bad breeders or Puppy Millers by purchasing from Pet Stores.
  • I urge you to come to my home and decide on your own where your next  Dachshund Puppy should come from.
Once you've visited my home and  if you decide that you would never consider leaving your pet here at my home for
an extended stay,  then by all means, you should consider another breeder for your next Miniature Dachshund
    Puppy.
  • Find different keys words on a Breeders website and search the Internet for extended information.  You may be
surprised on what you come across.
  • Check with the Breeders Veterinarian as well as your own, The Better Business Bureau, or even the  Department of
    Agriculture.
  • If you don't already have a Veterinarian Please Click Here:  Florida Veterinarians
  • Look at dachshunds that you see in your neighborhood, parks and other places and ask the owner where they
purchased their puppy. Ask what their experience was. And whether they would use the same resource for
purchasing a puppy in the future.
  • Demand a Health Certificate. This document is required by law in the State of Florida and must be dated no more
than thirty days prior the purchase of your dachshund. No Health Certificate........Then LEAVE!
  • Know your rights ahead of time, Read over the Florida Pet Lemon Law
  • Want to go a step further? Google the registry that the breeder is using. This can be an important deciding factor in
the purchase of your dachshund puppy. There are a LOT of  "Home Made" registries out there that are readily
available for breeders to use. Many of these registries require nothing more than "Their Word" that the puppy is
    "Pure Breed"
  • Ask the breeder what registry these use and why? Ask if their puppies are able to be registered with a Reputable
Registry, such as: The American Kennel Club (AKC)
  • A lot of times un-reputable breeders have irresponsibly bred their dogs  and their breeding rights have been
revoked from the more Reputable Registries.
  • I will not mock at the Less Stringent registries,  the information on them is easily and readily available for you to
    find on your own.
